No. 6 Rowing Selected to Compete in Varsity-8 NCAA National Championship
The No. 6 Nova Southeastern University rowing team was selected to send its varsity-8 boat to the NCAA National Championship in Sacramento, California from May 29-31.
Six teams were selected to compete in Sacramento, with the Sharks receiving a bid to compete in one of two races taking place. NSU will see consensus No. 1 Barry, who will be representing the South Region. No. 2 Humboldt State, the defending champions, will represent the West Region while No. 3 Mercyhurst represents the east.
No. 5 Central Oklahoma received an at large bid to compete in both the V8 and varsity-4 races. NSU and No. 4 Philadelphia will round out the V8 field. NCAA.com will provide live video coverage of the entire championship.
The Sharks have had a tough schedule in 2015, which has allowed them to see some of the fastest teams in the nation across multiple divisions. Most recently, at the Aberdeen Dad Vail Regatta, the Sharks gained experience against every boat in the championship field.
