New Razor’s Edge Research Students meet Halmos Researchers

Razors edge tour

Razors Edge Tour, 2017.

On August 16, the 2nd group of Razor’s Edge Research Scholars came to the Halmos College Oceanographic Campus to meet Halmos faculty and graduate students to learn about current research projects. These 17 freshman, who have only been at NSU for three days, met Halmos faculty member Tammy Frank, Ph.D., M.S. students Corey Amos and Mike Novotny, and Ph.D. candidate Nick Turner.   While visiting the labs, they learned about deep sea invertebrate and fish research, spatial ecology and seafloor characterization, and coral histology.

The Razor’s Edge Research Scholars program is a premier scholarship opportunity for first-time-in-college freshman who are captivated with firsthand research experiences, scientific inquiry, and problem solving. The successful Razor’s Edge Research student will complete research activities with NSU researchers in a variety of fields matched to the student’s interest.
