Former NBA All Star Speaks to Business Students

On Apr. 10, former NBA All Star Kenny Anderson spoke to students in the Facility and Event course, which forms part of the B.S. in Sport and Recreation Management program at the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship.

Although his goal in life was to play basketball, Anderson stressed the importance of a back-up plan by getting a solid education. He attended Georgia Tech University for two years and then played in the NBA for 14 years. Since his retirement, he completed a degree in Organizational Leadership at St. Thomas University. He currently coaches at David Posnack Jewish Day School and is a radio personality on WQAM.

“Getting my degree was the biggest challenge in my life,” said Kenny.

He encouraged the students to never take their talents for granted, stay focused, and continually improve.
