From left to right: Antonio Fins, Sun-Sentinel opinion page editor, who served as the moderator for the summit; Ed Fulop, member of the 9.12 Project Tea Party; NSU history professor, Charles Zelden, Ph.D., and Jonathan Abramson, member of the Coffee Party.

Tea Party members oppose President Barack Obama’s policies and Coffee Party members support him. The Sun-Sentinel and NSU hosted a panel discussion with representatives of the tea and coffee movements on May 11. The panel explored whether the movements are a fad or fixture in politics, and accepted questions from the audience pertaining national political issues. The event took place at the NSU Health Professions Division’s Steele Auditorium.

The panelist included Antonio Fins, Sun Sentinel opinion page editor, who served as the moderator for the summit; Ed Fulop, member of the 9.12 Project Tea Party; NSU history professor, Charles Zelden, Ph.D., and Jonathan Abramson, member of the Coffee Party.
