See National Broadcast of NSU vs. Florida Southern in Women’s Basketball game, Feb. 9

This Saturday, Feb. 9, the Nova Southeastern University women’s basketball team will have its game against Florida Southern broadcasted live on national television, as part of the CBS Sports Network Division II Basketball Game of the Week package.

“Our players are excited and honored to represent Nova Southeastern live on national television,” said head coach LeAnn Freeland. “Every collegiate athlete hopes for an opportunity to play in front of a national audience and our team appreciates the chance to showcase their talent on CBS Sports Network. Because our game will be a highly anticipated matchup, I cannot think of a better game to reflect the talent of NCAA Division II and the Sunshine State Conference.”

The Division II Basketball Game of the Week package is now in its seventh year. The partnership between CBS Sports Network and the NCAA provides Division II institutions and conferences with the opportunity for national television coverage for their football and basketball programs. In addition to nine basketball games each year, the arrangement also features six regular season football games.

“Our membership continues to value this program,” Division II Vice President Mike Racy said. “Not only does it give our schools an opportunity to showcase their student-athletes, it also gives them a big platform to tell the world about their overall institution and their community.”

The Sharks’ game against Florida Southern is scheduled for a 12 p.m. opening tip. Here our the channel listings for CBS Sports Network on various providers in the area:

AT&T U-Verse: 1643
Comcast: 393
Direct TV: 613
Dish Network: 158

NSU fans can also tune in to the game at a watch party during Saturday’s free NSU Community Fest, to be held at Gold Circle Lake.
