Become a Musical Ambassador for NSU — Audition for the NSU Vocal Ensemble, Apr. 14

The NSU Vocal Ensemble, one of many performance ensembles housed within the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences Division of Performing and Visual Arts, currently seeks talented singers to proudly represent Nova Southeastern University at upcoming events on and off campus.

Auditions for NSU Vocal Ensemble
Saturday, Apr. 14
Noon–2:00 p.m.
Black Box Theatre | Don Taft University Center

The ensemble features a select group of student performers who serve as NSU’s musical ambassadors. The repertoire for the ensemble is unique and diverse. Performances throughout the season may include NSU’s Student Life Achievement Awards (STUEYS), the college’s annual holiday concert, Commencement, Homecoming events, Sharkapalooza, CommunityFest, and others.

To audition, prepare one verse and a chorus of two contrasting songs, which you will perform a cappella. After your solo audition, a simple song will be taught, and you will be expected to harmonize with other members of the ensemble to test your aural skills. Auditions are open to all NSU undergraduate and graduate students. Tuition scholarships are available to qualified undergraduate students participating in the ensemble.

Those selected for the NSU Vocal Ensemble must be available to rehearse throughout the 2012–2013 academic year. Rehearsals will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m., and on select Saturdays, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The ensemble will perform at various times and locations throughout the region, state, country, and perhaps internationally.

For more information about the NSU Vocal Ensemble, contact Bill Adams, D.M.A., associate professor and coordinator of performing arts in the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences, at (954) 262-8025.
