Museum of Art Lecture and Film | Wasteland by Vic Muniz

Join curator, Peter Boswell for a short lecture on the art of Vik Muniz followed by a screening of the artists documentary entitled Wasteland. The film documents two years of works of Brazilian contemporary modern artist Muniz, in creating art with the cooperation of scavengers of recyclables working at Jardim Gramacho, one of the world’s largest landfills, serving the metropolis of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. From the trash, Muniz and his team create large-scale mosaic portraits that are sold and exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art in Sao Paulo.
This event is complimentary to all Museum members and $15 for nonmembers.
