The Multicultural Affairs Committee Celebrates Women’s History Month: EmpowHer
The Multicultural Affairs Committee (MAC), sponsored by Nova Southeastern University’s College of Health Care Sciences and NSU’s College of Nursing, celebrated Women’s History Month on Tuesday, March 19 with the first EmpowHer event.
This year’s theme was EmpowHer: Sharing women’s best homemade remedies or health care advice. The main foyer in the Health Profession Division’s Terry Building was filled with vibrant music, food, and cheerful spirits. Representatives from the MAC assembled in the foyer to elicit student and faculty participation. Students and faculty from all of the colleges were asked to share their best homemade remedies or health care advice given to them by their mother, aunt, sister, grandmother, or any woman in their life. Remedies and advice were written on 3×5 index cards and a colorful collage was created, which is now on display outside of the Steele Auditorium of the Terry Building.
The event was a success and truly fostered a spirit of celebrating the valuable contributions of the women in our lives. If you have any questions or suggestions for future MAC events, please e-mail the MAC at mac@nova.edu.
