MPA Alumnus Named Pompano Beach Fire Chief
John Jurgle, a 2010 master of science in public administration graduate from the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship, was recently promoted to Fire Rescue Chief for Pompano Beach, FL. Formerly the assistant chief and the following retirement of former Chief Harry Small after 12 years of service.
Pompano Beach Fire Rescue employs 242 people who respond to an average of 23,400 rescue and emergency medical calls annually. A 30-year fire rescue expert, Jurgle has served as firefighter, paramedic, driver engineer, lieutenant, EMS captain and division chief.
