Middle and Upper School UN Teams recognized in the Model United Nations Conference
Congratulations University School!
The Model UN Middle School and Upper School teams performed exceedingly well and earned prestigious awards at the Model United Nations Conference at Nova Southeastern University! Seven schools, with over 150 delegates representing 90 countries, tackled global issues such as the civil war in Syria and women’s access to education in the developing countries.
This was the first year that Middle School students joined Upper School delegates at the university event and all students demonstrated incredible levels of preparation and eloquent speaking abilities. Several members of our teams garnered recognition:
Daniella Vadillo (SPAIN-Security Council) Best Position Paper
Selin Kilinc (CHILE-General Assembly) Best Position Paper
Dylan Heller and Alexa Morrissey – (AUSTRIA- General Assembly) Distinguished Delegation
Berent Bexley – (NETHERLANDS- General Assembly) Distinguished Delegation
Grant Bianco and Alon Sherman – (PAKISTAN- General Assembly) Distinguished Delegation
Ari Arias and Rohan Chiravuri – (IRELAND- General Assembly) Distinguished Delegation
Michelle Vadillo and Camilla Maionica – (NORWAY- General Assembly) Honorable Mention
The Student delegates will now perform at the University of Chicago conference in February, Oxbridge Middle School Model United Nations in March, and the University of Miami conference in April. We are so proud of our Sharks!
