Miami Dolphins and AARP Foundation host event at Taft University Center
The Miami Dolphins and AARP Foundation were recently on campus at the Don Taft University Center Arena to Pack ONE MILLION MEALS.
The Miami Dolphins, through their Special Teams Driven by Chevy Volunteer program, partnered with AARP Foundation to pack ONE MILLION MEALS for individuals 50+ in South Florida and support Feeding South Florida with the donation. Volunteers worked an assembly line, combining ingredients and vitamins, to make one million nutritious meals of rice and beans. They focused on four priorities where immediate action and legal advocacy will have the greatest impact: hunger, income, housing and isolation. The organizations hosted up to 4,000 volunteers to donate their time to helping those less fortunate.
It was a busy day – the Miami Dolphins Cheerleader Final Auditions were also held on campus at the Rose and Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center. The auditions were free and open to the public.
