Men’s and Women’s Golf Teams Competing in National Championships
The NSU men’s and women’s golf teams are both competing in the NCAA Division II national championships, with the women’s team looking to become NCAA national champions once again.
The women’s team is playing in the 2010 NCAA Division II Women’s Golf Championships being held May 12-15, at Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, Arizona. The men’s team will play in the NCAA Division II Men’s Golf Championships being held May 18-21 in Noblesville, Ind.
The No. 1 nationally ranked NSU women’s golf program qualified for the national championships by winning the NCAA Division II Women’s Super Region 2 Tournament title for a second consecutive year. The Sharks were led by 2010 Sunshine State Conference Player of the Year Sandra Changkija to win the tournament by nine strokes. Changkija (74-71-68-213) finished second overall in the tournament, which concluded on May 4.
The No. 12 nationally ranked NSU men’s golf team advanced to the NCAA Division II Championship Tournament for the second time in program history by finishing in fourth place at the NCAA Division II South/Southeast Regional, which completed on May 5.
