Men’s Soccer Team Earns Draw with No. 10 Saint Leo, 1-1
NSU’s men’s soccer team (3-4-3, 0-2-1 SSC) earned a draw at home against the No. 10 Saint Leo Lions (7-1-1, 1-0-1 SSC) Saturday, Oct. 19, 1-1. The lone goal came from David Robles who scored for the second time this season. The score came in the 29th minute, when Juan Rodriguez crossed the ball to Robles at the top right corner of the box. Robles struck to put the Sharks ahead for the remainder of the first half.
The Sharks nearly doubled their lead later in the first half when the Sharks had a breakaway one-on-one play. Saint Leo was caught up arguing a call, while the ref urged play to continue. The Sharks took a quick free kick and played the ball ahead of the defense, but goalkeeper Manuel Shoenhuber made a great save. Complete Release
