Men’s Golf Voted No. 1 in Bushnell Golfweek Preseason Poll
The Nova Southeastern University men’s golf team will begin the 2015-16 season as the No. 1 team in Division II, after being voted as such in the Bushnell Golfweek Preseason DII Coaches Poll, released by the GCAA on Friday.
The Sharks will return seven members from the 2015 National Championship winning-squad, while adding three freshmen to the roster. They received 16 of 19 first-place votes and 472 total points to outdistance Sunshine State Conference rival and 2015 runners-up Lynn (two and 435), No. 3 USC-Aiken (390) and No. 4 and another SSC squad in Barry (the other FPV and 348 points).
Central Missouri and Florida Southern tied for fifth, with Saint Leo seventh, making for five SSC schools in that top tier. Florida Tech slotted at No. 20, with Rollins also receiving votes.
The Sharks will tee off their season in late September, with the postseason beginning in mid-April.
