Men’s Golf Moves on to Nationals With Second-Place Region Finish

The NSU men’s golf team is Allendale-bound, as they ended play at the NCAA South/Southeast Regional in second place and will move on to the 2014 DII National Championships beginning in 12 days.

The Sharks finished six strokes behind Sunshine State Conference rival Barry, as the Bucs totaled a 284 on Wednesday, May 7 and 868 total, ahead of NSU’s 10-over score of 874 (290-292-292). Santiago Gomez (So., Armenia, Colombia) led the way as he tied for third overall at 212, tying his best finish as a Shark. He wrapped up with a 1-over 73, firing five more birdies for 17 total in the event. Complete Release
