Medical Students Collect Toys and School Supplies for Iraqi Children Beginning Sept. 20
Students from NSU’s College of Osteopathic Medicine are collecting toys, stuffed animals, and school supplies for Iraqi children, Sept. 20-24. The students, who are members of Sigma Sigma Phi, the national osteopathic honors and community service society, are collecting the supplies for Beanies for Baghdad, a nonprofit organization that will distribute the items to U.S. troops serving in Iraq.
The troops will then give the supplies to the children of Iraq. The medical students are collecting Beanie Babies, other stuffed animals, school supplies, and toy cars. “We did this last year, and it was a great success,” said Austin Bach, a second-year medical student who is organizating the collection.
If you would like to make a donation, collection boxes will be placed inside the Health Profession Division’s Steele and Morris auditoriums between Sept. 20 and 24.
