Medical Sonography Program Hosts White Coat Ceremony
NSU’s College of HealthCare Sciences recently held a White Coat Ceremony for the Medical Sonography Program’s Class of 2016. Guests included administrators, faculty, relatives and friends who were proud to see the students receive their coats.
Deborah Mendelsohn, M.S., RSCS, RDMS, RVT, assistant professor and general clinical coordinator, served as master of ceremonies. Keynote speakers included Jorge Han, M.D., director and assistant professor for the Medical Sonography Program, and James Benenati, M.D., medical director of the program.
Vanessa Gomes, president of the Class of 2016, welcomed guests and Patricia Toribio, M.H.Sc., RVT, assistant professor and vascular clinical coordinator, delivered remarks on white coat symbolism. Ron McInnis, M.Ed., RDMS, RVT, assistant director and assistant professor for the program, led the student in taking the Sonographer’s Oath.
