Medical School Program Wins National Recognition
In February, the Art, Medicine and Observation Program at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine was selected as the inaugural winner of the Council of Osteopathic Student Government Presidents (COSGP) Outstanding Advancement in Osteopathic Medical Education Award.
The accolade was established to allow students to recognize their osteopathic medical school for making a robust and durable change within their curriculum or for having instituted a novel and successful program in accordance with the osteopathic philosophy to advance their osteopathic medical education.
The Art, Medicine, and Observation Program, which educates osteopathic medical students to more effectively observe their patients through examining artwork, was developed by Dianna Silvagni, J.D., clinical assistant professor of medical education. The COSGP is the official national leadership council of the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine and is the only organization that represents all osteopathic medical students.
