Math Colloquium Series Continues with “Behind the Numbers”, Feb. 3

The Halmos College of Natural Sciences and Oceanography will host its next Math Colloquium Series talk in the Mailman Auditorium. The facilitator is Ricardo Carrera, Ph.D.

Number Theory, which is typically referred to as “The Queen of Mathematics” is a branch of pure mathematics that investigates the properties of the integers. In this talk, we provide a historical overview of classical number theory and examine various real world applications of number theory. Lastly, if time permits, there will be a discussion about how technology has contributed to the development and advancement of number theory.
