NSU Community Volunteers for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service, Jan. 19
NSU is committed to community service. It is one of the university’s Core Values and as a result of its dedication, in 2010 NSU earned the prestigious, elective Carnegie Foundation Designation as a Community Engaged Institution in both categories: “Curricular Engagement” and “Outreach and Partnerships.”
Individually, we can contribute to the community in our own ways. Join the Office of Student Leadership and Civic Engagement for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service. We will be traveling to the following locations:
- CityYear Miami (school revitalization)
- Dania Beach Garden Patch (sustainable urban agriculture)
- City of Fort Lauderdale/Broward YMCA (safe pathways to safe neighborhoods)
Transportation will be provided, leaving from the NSU Shark Fountain on Monday, January 19 at 8:00 a.m. and returning to the campus by 2:00 p.m.
There will be pizza and guided reflection after the projects are completed.
