17th Annual Celebration of Excellence Recognizes Committment and Dedication
NSU recently hosted the 17th Annual Celebration of Excellence (COE), during which President George L. Hanbury II, Ph.D., presented the President’s Excellence in Community Service Award to Judy and Barry Silverman.Through this award, NSU proclaims its pride in the accomplishments and personal dedication of its constituents (alumni, community leaders, faculty, staff and students) in the community. The award is conferred upon individuals who demonstrate significant contributions to the community while exemplifying all eight of NSU’s core values.
During the evening’s festivities, the university also recognized donors whose cumulative giving to NSU exceeds 1 million dollars. In appreciation of their generosity, they were presented with a limited edition Maquette of the Kent Ullberg’s 30 foot Mako shark statue, which is located in front of the Don Taft University Center. The recipients of the shark statue were Steve and Madelaine Halmos; the law firm of Panza, Maurer & Maynard, P.A., and Lorraine Thomas.
