Loret de Mola Named South Region Pitcher of the Week
Julian Loret de Mola threw a complete game shutout against Embry Riddle.
Julian Loret de Mola has been named the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association South Region Pitcher of the Week for his performance against Embry-Riddle this past week.
After being recognized in the Senior Day ceremonies prior to the first game of Saturday’s, April 30, doubleheader Loret de Mola threw a complete game five-hit shutout in the second game to defeat the Eagles, earning his fifth victory of the year, all of which have come in his last six games. His performance secured the Sharks’ fifth consecutive weekend sweep. Loret de Mola lowered his ERA to 2.72 and his opponent batting average to .205, both of which lead the SSC. He became the first Shark to pitch a complete game shutout since Vinnie Contaldi on March 2, 2013 against Bentley.
