Lengdèn Honored as All-America Scholar
For the second year in a row, and to cap off his successful career on and off the links, Nova Southeastern University men’s golfer Oscar Lengdèn was honored on Wednesday, July 22, as a Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar, as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
Chosen as one of just 91 Division II players to earn this distinction, Lengdèn (Sr., Helsingborg, Sweden) helped lead the Sharks to their second DII National Championship in program history this past season with a 72.6 stroke average (third on the team), while sporting a 3.34 cumulative GPA during his four-year academic career. He was also previously chosen as a Second Team PING All-American, and finished No. 9 among all DII players in the final individual national rankings.
Across all levels, only 348 golfers achieved this prestigious accolade. Only junior or senior student-athletes are eligible, and DII golfers must have a 78.0 stroke average or lower while maintaining at least a 3.2 cumulative GPA. Lengdèn is NSU men’s golf’s first ever two-time recipient and joins just eight other Sunshine State Conference golfers as 2014-15 honorees.
