Lengden Captures Individual Crown; Sharks Take Third at Buccaneer Invitational Golf Tournament

Oscar Lengdèn

The No. 2 Nova Southeastern University men’s golf team -6 (287-281-278–846) finished third on the leaderboard after three rounds of play at the Buccaneer Invitational in Miami Beach, Fla.

The Sharks fell to five consecutive invitational champions Barry by only five strokes and one stroke to Canadian power Laval, who took second overall.

The Sharks may have finished third as a team, but they flourished on the individual leaderboard taking the victory and runner-up.  The final round ended in a three-player playoff hole between Oscar Lengdèn (Fr., Helsingborg, Sweden), No. 15 Ricardo Celia (So., Barranquilla, Columbia) and Lynn’s Marcelo Rozo. Lengden, who shot -4 (69-65-72—206) birdied the playoff hole to capture the victory for the Sharks, while teammate Celia finished tied for second with a phenomenal final round, shooting -7 (72-70-64—206).
