Legacy Society Recognizes Individuals who include NSU in their Estate Plans
Nova Southeastern University’s Legacy Society recognized visionary individuals who are making a profound and meaningful impact on the future of the university by including NSU in their financial and estate plans.
President George L. Hanbury II, Ph.D., greeted guests and explained how each of them plays an important role in furthering NSU’s shared Vision 2020. Legacy Society members shared personal stories about their passion for education, commitment to NSU, and making a brighter future for all students.
For many individuals, leaving a legacy is a natural extension of their philanthropic generosity. For others, knowing their impact will be beneficial to both NSU and themselves makes gift planning very attractive. Effective gift planning can reduce an individual’s taxes and increase their income, while ensuring a charitable legacy for future generations.
Legacy Society members have left their mark on NSU by contributing to our nearly $60 million endowment, the majority of which is comprised of scholarships; various facilities (such as the Don Taft University Center and the Shepard Broad Law Center) and several named programs. Currently, more than 70 individuals are members of the Legacy Society.
The generosity of alumni and friends has nurtured NSU for more than four decades, allowing for extraordinary achievements in teaching, research and community service. As the university looks forward to a future of exciting opportunities, those who make a commitment to the university will make all the difference to our success.
