Leadership Training Continues at NSU
The fourth NSU Leadership module “Project Management and Measurement” was led by Irv Rosenbaum, DPA, Ed.D., MPA from the Health Professions Division, Laraine Mittleman, Ph.D., OIT Project Management Office, and Fred Ricci, Ed.D., Fischler School of Education. Representing different NSU administrative and academic units, this team provided content expertise for the pilot group taking all five of the leadership modules.
A Task Force appointed by the University created the leadership training curriculum to develop knowledge and skills in supervisors at NSU who will help propel NSU toward premiere status among peers in higher education. The ultimate goal of the program is to train supervisors in skills that will assist NSU achieve Vision 2020.
The modules include “Performance Management,” “Communication in the Workplace,” “Managing Conflict/Change,” “Measurement/Project Management,” and “Leadership Visioning & Planning”. Content specialists for each module have been selected from within NSU’s extensive cadre of experts.
The current classes, comprised of 48 NSU leaders who supervise three or more personnel, are piloting the classes for future supervisors to take. The Leadership Training Program will roll out as a mandatory program in April 2012.
