Law Student to Speak at World MRSA Day

Tara Hopper, a third-year law student at NSU’s Shepard Broad Law Center, was invited to speak at World MRSA Day on Oct. 1, 2010, after writing a Law Review paper advocating statutory reform to combat MRSA following the death of a close friend from the virus.

While conducting research on MRSA for her paper, Hopper contacted Jeanine Thomas – a national MRSA expert – and the MRSA Survivor’s Network. Hopper sent Thomas an email along with her Law Review paper and explained her desire to become a MRSA consumer/patient advocate. Via Thomas’ invitation, Hopper will be speaking at the World MRSA Day event at Loyola University in Chicago.
