Law Center Moot Court Team Competes in Austria

The Law Center’s moot court team that competed in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot (from left): Michael Vandormael, Lani Gonzales, Ishaq Kundawala (assistant professor of law and moot court coach), Kimberley Miller and Elliott Stanley.

A moot court team from NSU’s Shepard Broad Law Center recently competed against teams from 251 law schools from 62 different countries at the 17th Annual Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Vienna, Austria.

The moot court team included law students Lani Gonzales, Kimberley Miller, Elliott Stanley and Michael Vandormael. Each of the oralists received great praise from the arbitral panels for their extensive preparation and depth of knowledge of both the facts and the law.

The goal of the Vis Moot is to foster the study of international commercial law and arbitration for resolution of international business disputes through its application to a concrete problem of a client and to train law students in methods of alternative dispute resolution.
