Law Alum Promoted to Marine Corps Colonel
G. William Riggs (J.D. 1990) was promoted to Colonel, United States Marine Corps on September 1, 2011. Colonel Riggs is currently assigned as Circuit (Supervising) Military Judge, Eastern Judicial Circuit, Navy-Marine Corps Trial Judiciary.
First certified as a military judge in 2007, Colonel Riggs became the Circuit Judge for the Eastern Judicial Circuit in December 2010. The Eastern Judicial Circuit is one of the busiest in the Department of Defense and with five active duty military judges, provides judicial support for all Marine Corps installations and commands in North Carolina.
