NSU Student Athlete Named ITA All-American, Representing No. 7 Tennis Sharks
Nova Southeastern University tennis junior Sabrina Kierberg was selected as an ITA All-American, and the tennis squad was ranked No. 7 in the final poll, as the organization continued to wrap up the 2014-15 season awards.
Kierberg (Munich, Germany) finished as the No. 16-ranked player in the nation according to the ITA, and was fifth in the final South Region singles rankings. She is the team’s first national honoree (and seventh in the NCAA era) since 2011-12, in Alexandra Johansson (Sr., Sydney, Australia). Teammate Petra Jurova (Jr., Bratislava, Slovakia) was No. 25 nationally and 12th in the region, while she and Irina Constantinide (Jr., Galati, Romania) earned doubles recognition on both levels, 13th in the country and fifth in the South.
The Sharks’ No. 7 ranking (and No. 5 finish in the South Region) came on the heels of the team’s first NCAA Tournament appearance in six years and an 18-3 final record. That helped to earn head coach Stephen Schram the ITA South Region Coach of the Year award, as selected on May 7
