Kabot and Reeve Present at Autism Society of America’s National Conference
NSU’s Susan Kabot, Ed.D., executive director of the Autism Institute at the Mailman Segal Center, and Christine Reeve, Ph.D., spearheaded two presentations during the Autism Society of America’s national conference this summer in San Diego, CA.
Organizing Classroom Environments demonstrated the importance of providing structure to the physical space of the classroom and the organization of materials; the allocation of time to activities, and the use of staff explicitly assigned to students, activity centers, and other classroom tasks.
Evaluating Educational Programs for Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) provided a framework for parents and professionals to use to ensure that a set of classroom indicators developed by NSU’s Autism Consortium are being implemented in classrooms serving students with ASD.
