Jacksonville SEC hosts First Virtual Instructional Program Symposium

NSU’s Jacksonville Student Educational Center (SEC)  hosted the inaugural Virtual Instructional Program Symposium on December 5-7.  There were  27 Florida school districts that participated.  NSU Alum  Marilyn Myers, Ph.D., director of Virtual Schools for the Duval County School District, assembled an outstanding team of professionals for this successful event that provided valuable information to all of the school districts in attendance.

The State of Florida has mandated that every school district have at least one virtual school. Many districts need assistance in learning how to set up these schools to insure quality teaching in every virtual classroom.  The Jacksonville Student Educational Center was honored to be a part of this first statewide initiative.
