Jacksonville SEC Hosts “Principal for the Day” with Duval County Schools

Duval County School Superintendent Ed Pratt-Dannals (center with glasses) with Duval county teachers and personnel from the Jacksonville SEC.

NSU’s Student Educational Center in Jacksonville recently hosted a debriefing for the Duval County Public Schools’ “Principal for the Day” initiative. The event is held twice a year to raise public awareness of what is happening in Jacksonville’s public schools.

After spending the day in various schools throughout the county, more than 30 “principals” joined Superintendent Ed Pratt-Dannals at NSU’s Jacksonville site to discuss what they observed throughout the day.  Most of the participants were from the business sector and told of the eye-opening day they had.  They all expressed a great appreciation for the dedication and enthusiasm of teachers, principals, and staff and offered to become more involved and supportive in assisting in the education of Jacksonville’s children.
