Introducing NSU Mako Band: New Pop-Music Ensemble
NSU’s newest ensemble is making a splash across campus and the community. Sponsored by the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences, the NSU Mako Band features instrumentalists and singers performing commercial and popular music for a variety of audiences.
Since its formation, the band has performed at such college events as Improv Jam!, PEACE: A Holiday Concert, and NSU’s Annual Celebration of Excellence. The group is the official band of the annual Student Life Achievement Awards (STUEYs) and also performs for community organizations such as the Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce, most recently at the chamber’s Jazz in the Hall event in September.
Join the Band
If you sing or play an instrument, you’re invited to try out for the NSU Mako Band. Membership is open to all NSU students, faculty, and staff members. For more information, contact ensemble director Bill Adams, D.M.A., associate professor and coordinator of performing arts, at (954) 262-8025.
