SHSS and Stable Foundations Collaborate to Offer Equine-Assisted Family Therapy Training, Mar. 18

The Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS) and the Stable Foundations are collaborating to offer a training entitled: “Equine Assisted Family Therapy: Foundations of Practice,” on  Mar. 18 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Stable Foundations in Davie. Participants will be introduced to Equine-Assisted Family Therapy and trainers will use live demonstrations to illustrate the benefits of working with horses to explore relationship dynamics and patterns of behavior.

Trainers include Shelley Green, Ph.D., professor in the Department of Family Therapy at SHSS and  doctoral student Olivia Schlapfer. Green’s research and teaching interests include sexuality, AIDS/HIV, clinical supervision, and qualitative research. She has published numerous articles and book chapters, and is co-editor, with her husband, Douglas Flemons, Ph.D., of Quickies: The Handbook of Brief Sex Therapy.
