Can knowing the identity of the bacteria living in our digestive tract help us to diagnose and treat autism? The Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences will host a discussion on current research on the link between certain gut microbiota and autism as part of the Faculty Lecture Series. This lecture will review the identification of intestinal microbes in children with autism and the potential use of probiotics and vaccines as treatment for the disorder.
