Inaugural Distinguished Scholars Reception Welcomes High Achievers to Campus

George Hanbury, Ph.D., welcomes students and their families to the Distinguished Scholars Reception.

Nova Southeastern University’s (NSU) Office of Undergraduate Admissions recently invited local high-achieving freshmen, sophomores and juniors to the University’s main campus for the Inaugural Distinguished Scholars Reception, which was held on Friday, May 4. Approximately 300 guests, comprising prospective students and their families, took advantage of this exclusive opportunity to meet one-on-one with NSU admissions counselors, administrators and faculty.

After a reception in the University Center upper court, guests were treated to a sit-down dinner followed by a program of distinguished speakers including Stephanie Brown, Ed.D., George L. Hanbury II, Ph.D., Don Rosenblum, Ph.D., and Brad Williams, Ed.D. The evening closed with a brief ceremony to recognize each student for their strong academic achievements.

The Distinguished Scholars Reception is a new event designed to attract students at the top of their class to visit campus and learn more about NSU as an ideal choice for higher education.
