Hypower Inc. Sponsored Shark Tracked for 309 days
A Mako shark, whose satellite tag was sponsored by Hypower, Inc. was tracked for over 6,200 miles in 309 days. This female Mako was tagged on September 26, 2016 just south of Long Island, New York. Her last detection was in the Gulf of Mexico on August 1, 2017.
Halmos College of Natural Science and Oceanography’s shark tagging project is through the Guy Harvey Research Institute. Like Hypower: companies, schools, and individuals may donate to the shark tagging initiative. Hypower, based in Fort Lauderdale Florida, is a top ten Electrical and Utility Contracting Company servicing the State’s leading General Contractors, Utilities, Developers, and Institutions. In May 2017, Hypower was named Business of The Year by the South Florida Business Journal. Hypower is a family-owned company which currently employs over 400 people.
