Hundreds turn out for NSU’s 2013 Annual Health Fair
More than 600 NSU employees attended the 2013 Employee Health & Wellness Fair held Oct. 23 on the RecPlex Basketball courts in the Don Taft University Center. The event was sponsored by the Office of Human Resources in conjunction with the NSU Wellness Committee, the Health Professions Division and ICUBA.
Employees received health screenings conducted by Florida Blue, visited representatives from NSU’s Health Care Centers, the Alvin Sherman Library, ReCPlex and many, many more. It was a very special healthful event!
When employees stopped at various information tables they received raffle tickets for chances to win one of 43 different prizes, which included ITunes gift certificates, a Fit Bit, Whole Foods gift certificates, Exercise Equipment and many more prizes including a Mini Refrigerator.
Our NSU Pharmacy administered flu shots, to keep our employees healthy this flu season! More than 260 employees underwent health screening for cholesterol, glucose, BMI, body fat, blood pressure and posture screening, receiving $25 in their HRA account for participating in the screening.
Chartwells provided breakfast and lunch of tasty and healthy food choices, enjoyed by all. In addition they provided a “Snack Bag” for those employees who underwent a screening.
Watch for next year’s Annual Health Fair in October 2014. Plan to be there to join in the fun!
