Huizenga School Students Receive Scholarships to Attend Real Estate Conference

Six Master of Science, Real Estate Development (MSRED) Program students from Nova Southeastern University’s H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship were awarded full student membership and Florida Conference registration to the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) event, to be held August 21 – 23, 2011 at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center in Kissimmee, FL.

The ICSC is the leading national and international organization on the development of shopping centers. Its annual Florida conference brings together three days of meetings and panels on best industry practices and technology advances with networking and job opportunities.

For students, the event features roundtable discussions covering various facets of retail real estate, including: Interviewing & Job Placement Strategies, Banking & Finance, Retailing, Real Estate Development, Acquisition & Site Selection, Construction & Architecture, Legal & Corporate Real Estate, Capital Markets & Investment Sales, Brokerage & Leasing, Property & Asset Management, Appraisal and International Real Estate.

The MSRED students were selected to attend the conference, work with mentors and participate fully in the conference and two day trade mart and exhibition. Each of the six students’ attendance costs were fully covered by ICSC.

MSRED student Joel Garcia said that he was “looking forward to working with a mentor to learn more about job opportunities in this growing segment of the industry.”

Students awarded scholarships are: Benjamin Boies, C. Jason Stephens; Carly Morell; Glen Mowat; Jim Baxter and Joel Garcia.
