Huizenga School Professor Receives Award of Distinction

A research article published by Randi L. Sims, Ph.D., professor of management at the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship, has received an Award of Distinction from the Journal of Business Ethics (JBE). JBE has published more than 4,700 articles over the last 30 years.

Sims’ 1994 article, entitled, “The influence of ethical fit on employee satisfaction, commitment, and turnover” is one of the top 100 JBE articles cited by other researchers. This study of hospital employees was among the first in the field to demonstrate that ethical fit is significantly related to employee attitudes and behavioral intentions.  Those employees whose ethical ideals match the ethical climate of their organization reported greater organizational commitment and lower levels of turnover intentions.
