Huizenga School Professor Interviewed by NBC6

Robert Preziosi, D.P.A., professor and chair of management at the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship, was interviewed on Sept. 15 for the story “The Black Market Will Pay Off for Cubans,” which aired on the NBC6 and was published online on the NBC Miami Website.

The article discussed the island’s plan to lay off 500,000 workers. According to the article, the hundreds of thousands of Cubans who have developed skills in the black market and hustling outside of work are likely to succeed in the new economic atmosphere.

Preziosi said that many Cubans might be just fine. “I think the people who had something going on the side will now be able to devote all their time and efforts to that. But it (the work) is no longer going to be on the side it will be in full view of the government,” he said.
