Huizenga School Graduate Wins Miami Herald’s Business Plan Challenge
Robert Vasquez, a graduate of NSU’s H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship, was the Challenge Champion in the Miami Herald’s annual Business Plan Challenge.
The Herald wrote: “Vasquez and his team developed Kitchen Porter Tech, named after the ‘kitchen porter’ whose job is organizing the kitchen and making life easier for the chef. Kitchen Porter Tech is a Web-based application that connects restaurateurs, franchisors, franchisees, management, staff, vendors and customers through a centralized location that’s always open. This lets a restaurateur monitor and control back-office operations from any place at any time.”
The Herald received 172 entries in the three categories. Vasquez’s plan won the Community Track and was the overall challenge winner. The full story on Vasquez and his plan can be viewed here.
Daniel Naim, an M.B.A. graduate of the Huizenga School, was part of a team that was runner-up in the FIU Track for the Business Plan Challenge. The full story on Naim and his team’s plan for Ecode, a green-building resource site, can be viewed here.
Nick Castaldo, lecturer of marketing at the Huizenga School, served as one of the judges in the challenge.
