Huizenga Professor Makes History With Wedding Vows

Pinkowski wedding

In the first known wedding ceremony on NSU’s campus, Jack Pinkowski, Ph.D., was married to Monica Pinto immediately following his class on Saturday, September 10. They recited their vows and were joined together as husband and wife in the Carl DeSantis building’s atrium in front of the Amaguk statue. Immediately following the ceremony, the couple hosted a small reception.

Michelle Mertens-Hollman, M.B.A., director of Finance, Operations and Administrative Services for the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship, officiated the service, which had approximately 20-25 people in attendance.

Among the guests in attendance was NSU President George Hanbury II, Ph.D., with his wife Jana. Other guests included Tamara Terry, D.B.A.; Greg Stiber, Ed.D.; Kevin McCarthy; Charlie Pettijohn, D.B.A. and Linda Pettijohn; Pedro Pellet, Ph.D.; Yuliya Yurova, Ph.D.; and Terrell Manyak, Ph.D. Several of Pinkowski’s students attended, however no extra credit was offered to the students for attending.
