Huizenga Business School Faculty Members Publish Research on Leadership
Maggie W. Dunn, D.B.A., Barbara R. Dastoor, Ph.D., and Randi L. Sims, Ph.D., professors at the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship, published their research entitled, “Transformational Leadership and Organizational Commitment: A Cross-Cultural Perspective” in the Spring 2012 issue of the Journal of Multidisciplinary Research.
The purpose of the study was to investigate the relationship between transformational leader behavior and employee commitment to the organization. The respondents for this study included 474 professional employees of a large multi-national, high-tech corporation in the United States and Israel.
The results provide evidence that supports the relationship between leader behavior and employees’ commitment to the organization in the U.S. and Israel. The research contributes to the growing body of literature on leadership practices and organizational commitment and strengthens the existing knowledge regarding the effectiveness of U.S.-based leadership practices in other countries.
