Holocaust Survivors: An exhibit featuring the artwork of Wilma Bulkin Siegel, M.D.

2016-Holocaust-Exhibit--webAn exhibit featuring twelve portraits of Holocaust survivors done by physician Wilma Siegel, M.D. will be featured through December in the Alvin Sherman Library. In 2003 Wilma Siegel began painting portraits of Holocaust survivors living in South Florida.

Retired since 1990,  Siegel devoted nearly 20 years as an oncologist and educator at Montefiore Hospital and Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City. She later served as medical director of the Ritter Scheurer Hospice at Beth Abraham Hospital in the Bronx. Siegel studied sculpture with Bruno Lucchesi at the New School in New York from 1974 to 1984, and art at the National Academy of Design in New York from 1989 to 1993. The recipient of several watercolor awards,  Siegel’s paintings are found in numerous private collections. Siegel exhibits primarily in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and New York, where she resides.
