NSU History Retold at the Alvin Sherman Library
As part of Nova Southeastern University’s (NSU) continuing 50th anniversary celebration, more than 80 guests enjoyed a brunch at the Alvin Sherman Library with historian and author Julian Pleasants, Ph.D. Pleasants described important events throughout of NSU’s history which he describes in his book The Making of Nova Southeastern University: A Tradition of Innovation, 1964-2014.
Many of NSU’s history making individuals were present including: Ray Ferrero, Jr., J.D., Chancellor and fifth president of NSU, and his wife, Raquel; Abraham S. Fischler, Ed.D., second president of NSU, and his wife Shirley; Ronald G. Assaf, NSU Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and his wife Kathy; Frank A. DePiano, Ph.D., professor, Center for Psychological Studies and former NSU provost and executive vice president, and Samuel F. Morrison, NSU Board of Trustee member.
The event was held at the Nova Southeastern University Alvin Sherman Library Adolfo and Marisela Costilla Gallery. A book sale and signing followed the author discussion. Pleasants is Professor Emeritus of History at University of Florida.
