Halmos Hosts Oil Spill Deployment Exercise

Halmos Hosts Oil Spill Deployment Exercise

On Friday, March 30 a group from Oil Spill Response came to the Oceanographic Campus to conduct a deployment exercise. For two and a half hours the group practiced how to react to an oil spill using the Walter Banks Marina. The exercise was concluded successfully with lessons learnt by the team.

Oil Spill Response Limited is the largest international industry-funded cooperative which exists to respond to oil spills wherever they occur, by providing preparedness, response and intervention services. They are wholly owned by most of the environmentally responsible oil and gas companies, and their membership represents the majority of global oil production.
