Halmos Distinguished Alumni Presents to Students and Faculty
As part of NSU’s Homecoming, Halmos College alumnus Nicholas W. Carris, PharmD presented a lecture to alumni, students, and faculty. Entitled “Compounding a Pharmacist: From NSU Undergrad to Assistant Professor”, Dr. Carris ’08 discussed how he made decisions to become the professor he is today. Before his talk, Dr. Carris met with current students of all levels to talk about careers in pharmacy.
Dr. Carris graduated from Halmos College of Natural Sciences and Oceanography with a degree in biology. He then earned his PharmD at the University of Florida in 2012. He is currently an assistant professor at the University of South Florida. He is the Halmos College 2018 Distinguished Alumni Award Winner. The program recognizes alumni who have realized their potential around the world by demonstrating a record of distinguished service and extraordinary achievement in a particular profession, discipline, organization or community cause.
