Halmos College Hosts Environmental Professionals Conference
On Friday, March 16 the Halmos College hosted the South Florida Association of Environmental Professionals (SFAEP) at their Oceanographic Campus. The 2018 SFAEP Symposium was a resounding success with 72 attendees, 2 NSU professor presentations, 13 sponsors, and 30 NSU students in attendance. The 14 speakers focused on the environmental impacts from hurricane Irma, the lessons learned and how to prepare for next season.
SFAEP is an organization of professionals who practice environmental planning, engineering, science, and law in South Florida. Its mission is to promote technical excellence, ethical practices, and community awareness as well as provide opportunities for individuals and businesses to enhance growth and career advancement. They also establish links with local schools, colleges, and universities to educate and recruit promising students and young participants into the environmental professional field.
